A little about me
Welcome to Raising Kids Young! Thanks for stopping to read about my story!
Here it goes! I am a 23 year old (yes you heard that right) wife and mother of two beautiful children!
I started this blog to share my story. I was married young and started having kids young and it has been a strange, sometimes difficult, but amazing journey so far. I want to provide encouragement, share funny stories, and make connections with those who share in this adventure called motherhood

Our Story
Zach and I met in high school in 2009. I was 17 and he was 18. We had a mutual friend and met at a church devotional. I'm not going to lie ladies..he was good to look at! What next caught my interest was that he was interested in attending Harding University-the school I had wanted to attend since I was little!
To shorten this a bit, we had an instant connection. We shared, first and foremost, a love for God and had deep talks on spiritual matters and that was a huge part of our whole relationship. We dated about two months before he went off to boot camp for the Marine Corps. I was absolutely devastated when he left. I truly had no idea what I was signing up for when he left. Our relationship from there on out was through snail mail! And not normal snail mail. He would get letter WEEKS after I sent them and I would not hear back from him for a month or so! Anyways to get back on track, we dated about 11 months then he proposed my SENIOR year of high school. Yes I was THAT girl...
After the proposal Zach was off to Afghanistan for a deployment and I was left to plan the wedding alone and to start my freshman year of school at Harding University. We made it through with midnight phone calls and even slower snail mail.
We married in December of 2010 when we were both 19 and had a beautiful wedding in the presence of so many of our friends and family. I moved with him to California where he was stationed and we started the honeymoon phase in paradise...sorta!

The Kiddos
After a year of being married to the man of my dreams, we found out we were pregnant with our first baby! Isaac was born in 2012 and being a mother for the first time hit me like a ton of bricks!
After Zach did his four years in the Marine corps, we moved to Arkansas to go o school at Harding University once again. Zach began his degree in Mechanical Engineering and I continued mine in Early Childhood Education. Going to school full-time and having a one year-old was an adventure of its own and I will expand on that in a different post.
When Isaac was 18 months we found out, unexpectedly I might add, that we were pregnant with our second. Evalynn was born in 2014 and we are now adjusting to life as a family of four as Zach tackles school and I tackle being a stay-at-home mom!
